Don't Forget Wash All Down

Petaling Jaya Khunthai Restaurant Been here a couple of times & they never disappoint. Good variety of Thai dishes made with fresh ingredients. Slightly on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. Make sure you start off with their tom yam. Spicy with chock-full of seafood goodies.

Other notable mentions would be the chilli lime or salted egg squid, glass noodle salad, thai style siakap & steamed lala. Heard their other seafood dishes are just as good. Don't forget to wash it all down with their umbra juice. Very fresh & tasty. Great cure for the spice. The overall atmosphere is average. Mostly outdoor wooden seating with plants all around. Cosy but a bit dark & mosquitoes might be a problem at times. Service is average. Food does come out pretty quick.

Food Eat In Kepong

Best Restaurants & Food to Eat in Kepong. DOUBLE SEVEN NIGHT ‘DAI CHAO' 孖柒夜市大炒. Double Seven's dai chao stall has been our go-to place for whenever we feel like having a proper meal, yet won't put a dent in the wallet.

The Fish Head Curry here is a favorite of mine and it's also available in Toman fish slices. For RM20 you get a generous serving with loads of vege thrown in, so much so that you don't even need to order a separate vege dish. Other recommended dishes include lemon chicken, salted egg squid and kangkung belacan. Restoran Double Seven, Jalan 3/36, Taman Sri Bintang.

Salted Egg Yolk Crab

Causeway Bay Spicy Crab, Sri Hartamas. This franchise from Hong Kong specializes in crab dishes (obviously), and they have people flocking in from all over the city to sample their signature Garlic and Chilli Crab.

The spicy crab is hidden under what seems to be a mountain of fried garlic, and although those flavours complement the crab well, the natural sweetness of the crabmeat still shines through. Beside that, people also love their baked salted egg yolk crab, covered in crispy bits of salted egg that goes oh so well with the crab.

Salted Egg Yolk

Pairing Asian cuisine with wine is a lot of fun, due to the diversity of cultures, usually requiring both roundness and freshness in wines to soften out the intense flavours and spices used in cooking. A well-chilled, crisp, young and fruity white like the Marlborough Seresin Pinot Gris would go beautifully with Tuna Tataki, Ponzu, Smoked Enoki, onion, or Puffed Rice.

On the other hand, salted dishes, like the smoked salmon, or even salted egg yolk prawns will pair well with whites like the Amigne de Vetroz, La Danse des Etoiles.
