Cha Chaan Teng

Kam Wah Cafe has one of the best, if not the best bo luo bao in Hong Kong. The cha chaan teng is always crowded, but trust me, the pineapple buns are worth queueing up for.

Can't Go Wrong

If you are on a quest to find the best cha chaan teng in Hong Kong, Australian Dairy Company should be on the top of your checklist. This is probably one of the most famous cha chaan teng in town.

You can't go wrong with their scrambled eggs and ham macaroni. Australian Dairy Company is very much a quick service restaurant, you're not meant to linger here. They operate with a ruthless efficiency: you order, eat, pay and go.

Cha Chaan Teng

At one of Hong Kong's most popular and famous Hong Kong café (Cha Chaan Teng) Australia Dairy Company, expect attitudes, partly rude service, chaotic ambience, long queues, and a very good plate of scrambled eggs. The morning set at HKD$28 consisted of a buttered toast, scrambled eggs, macaroni soup with ham and coffee or tea.

The eggs are fluffy and tasty, some say the secret ingredient is canned cream soups. The café is a frantic battle zone during peak hours. Tip: Join the queue, get your way in, squeeze into a table, order and enjoy your food.

Cha Chaan Teng

The most famous Cha Chaan Teng in Hong Kong. Locals and tourists alike flock to Tsui Wah Restaurant for their signature Hainanese chicken rice, fishball noodles, and Bo Luo Yiu.

One of the most impressive things about Tsui Wah is that it manages to maintain its high standards across all the branches. Definitely a must-visit when you are in Hong Kong.

Pork Dried Meat

Of course, most of the popular items here are related to pork. Pork Dried Meat, Pork Floss, Pork Chinese Sausage and etc. If you are not into pork, they also sell chicken, from chicken dried meat, chicken floss to chicken chinese sausage and etc. Want to get some chinese tea?

They have lots of choices here too. Most of it is aged Pu Er Tea from Yunnan, old collection of pu er tea. Look at the crowd, it's always crowded, but not as crowded as those biscuit shops. Their stocks clear fast by people and what you get is always fresh.

Don't Put Off

Foodtrucks in Klang Valley. Babarittos at Setapak.

The usual location of this truck might easily turn you off as it is almost always crowded at night with restaurants, shops, condominiums and a private hospital next door. But, it is amazing to note that the truck always manages to get its regular parking spot by the side of the bustling street and patiently caters to its clientele of which are mainly college students. But don't be put off by the average age of the customers!

No Matter Time

Restoran Ayam Nasi Pak Kong (白宮雞飯) is always crowded no matter what time you are there. There is always a queue for takeaways but never get intimated by it because they are pretty efficient. The lady boss will come and take your order, she is friendly. I see this as a totally different category from the bean sprouts chicken.

The steamed chicken is very juicy and tender. The fluffy rice is slightly tinted with chicken oil, not for the faint hearted. This non-halal restaurant only serve lunch (till 2.30pm). We paired it with their achar and kai choy.
