Chinese Fried Rice

Fried Rice – easy Chinese fried rice recipe with rice, eggs, chicken, shrimp and tastes SO MUCH better than takeout!! Fried rice is hugely popular and home-cooks are constantly looking for a great recipe. Fried rice is always the most popular item at Chinese restaurants.

It's very easy to make fried rice at home as the recipe is versatile and one can add any ingredients to it, plus it's a great way to use up overnight or leftover rice and make it into an appetizing, cheap, and flavorful meal. I love making chicken and shrimp fried rice because I always have the ingredients at home. Add in some frozen vegetables and you will have a filling and delicious dish, plus fried rice is so easy to make and takes less than 15 minutes and lunch or dinner is ready.

Chinese Fried Rice

First time patronising Moonlight Cake House as a family. We had Chinese Fried Rice, Sambal Nasi Goreng, Curry Chicken, mashes potato n fries - food portions is decent and delicious. They had the standard condiments which go with the meal, eg curry chicken had achar (pickles), requested for a second portion of achar at no charge. Service was fast n efficient, accurate order.

There were many service staff who attend to your requests instantly and they are very friendly. Cakes & pastries - excellent and so many varieties of cakes and bread. We had marble cheese cake n chocolate hazelnut cake. We brought home coconut buns, choc almond donut and home made original kaya :) needless to say, it did not disappoint. Price range RM4 to RM10 (before tax) for the food n drinks we had.

Chinese Fried Rice

This Chinese fried rice has the flavor those other recipes are missing. Tastes like takeout. I want to dedicate this dish to Bergy, whose recipe "AM & B's Indonesian Mehoon" has inspired this dish. Make sure you season your rice with salt before it cooks.

Add some butter to the cooking water, as well. Other seasonings should be added before you cook, as well, so it has time to get inside the rice. If you like sesame flavor, add 1 tsp. of it after you add the green onions, but do not use it as a cooking oil because it easily burns.

Zojirushi Rice Cooker

I would buy a good high end one. Recently bought a Zojirushi rice cooker one for $300+ and really can taste the difference! We eat mixed brown and white rice at home and my old cooker the brown rice always like undercooked. Now this cooker can choose setting for Mixed, taste so much better.

Can cook porridge also. Maybe try online? I saw that model at Courts Tampines too, like no difference from mine except the induction base. Super ex leh.

Malaysian-style Fried Rice

This nasi goreng is a pretty simple, but quite a delicious and satisfying dish. It takes a Chinese classic and spices it up a little bit. The magic of this Malaysian-style fried rice lies in the flavorful base, a spice paste of chiles, garlic and shallots. Leftover rice usually works best as it is drier and fries up better.

This dish is a great vehicle for other leftovers as well – you can add leftover chicken, other cooked meats, leftover vegetables and tofu as well. It is a bit of a spicier dish, but you can adjust the amount of chilli or use milder chillies. Or frankly as your kids get older, have them try some spicy dishes (raising the spice level as time passes) – constant exposure will get them eating dishes with more spices/chilli in them. You can add almost anything to your f

Mung Bean Paste

Which fragrance do you love the best, mung bean paste or coconut milk? Or if you love both of them for making traditional Chinese dessert or pastry, this is the recipe you'd definitely love to try. I made this mung bean filling for making some snow skin mooncakes last week. As you might've known that Mid-Autumn Festival (Mooncake Festival) is just around the corner.

It falls on 30 Sept this year. This mung bean filling is perfect for being fillings of either traditional mooncakes or trendy snow skin ones. I'll post the snow skin mooncake recipe here very soon. Stay tuned.
