Putting the third party factors aside, these leakages re-occur commonly due to the peels off of the waterproofing layer (adhesion issue), waterproofing layer blister / bubble (breathability issue), cracks of the waterproofing layer (elasticity issue). my lens never last more than 1 year because i wash everyday & wipe when blur, so after 1 year the lens start to show those foggy thing where the coating peels off. i don't use coatings or whatever just normal hoya lens.

this is the reason i don't go for super high index or transition lens because for just 1 year it's not worth adding all these in. even the scratch resistance will also start to peel. unless go for glass which is heavy & fragile.

“The common fear is it peels off easily. Wallpaper peels off simply because of the moisture level of the wall,” he explained, adding that the easiest way to test the moisture level is to stick a piece of a plastic wrap on the wall overnight.

He said if condensation appears, then moisture is present, and this has to be resolved before applying wallpaper.
