Just put on the Performance Tyre, Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires recently... WOW!! That was my first word.. Like a baby learning to talk.. Wow...

I was amazed... The braking distance was cut short by a whole lot... And cornering in these rubbers, makes me forget I'm driving a big car... It's was planted, grounded... I LOVE THE PSS, PERIOD!!! Braking distance shorten, cornering with confidence, smooth ride and manageable noise level. Price... Its barrier for some... Not easily affordable...

Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymmetric 3 Launched in Malaysia. While Goodyear may be a little late this time round, the new Asymmetric 3 reminds us where the Eagle F1 tyres sit in the greater performance tyre pecking order.

They're similar to Michelin Pilot Sport 4s in that regard, with good wet grip at the expense of some dry grip, but given our inclement weather and unpredictable road conditions, it's probably better to run this kind of tyre day-to-day.

Amazing quality from these Made in Thailand tyres even after 18,000 km of mileage. Comparing to my previous Michelin PS3 tyres, the Goodyear Eagle F1 Directional 5 has similar handling capabilities. Cornering & Braking performance is progressive with ample road feedback from the tyres.

Road handling is consistent for dry and wet road conditions. Value for money. The road noise was well muted for the first 6,000 km. Noise levels starts to get intrusive after that.

Anyway, the event continued after lunch with the Goodyear Eagle F1 Asymetric 2 (pictured above). This tire replaces the Eagle F1 Asymetric and can now be found as standard equipment on some Ferrari and Porsches out there.

The Asymetric 2 is priced higher than the Directional 5 and is Goodyear's premium all weather ultra high performance tyre. Competitors would be Bridgestone's A001/002 Adrenalin series of tyres, Michelin Pilot Sport 2, Nexen N8000 (good affordable tyres) and Continental CSC3.
