Gallo Wine Bar @ Taman Danau Desa. Desserts are not the norm at Gallo Wine Bar. If you enjoy cheese with wine, then the Brie Cheese (RM16) can be a showstopper.

Brie cheese baked till soft, served on hot cast iron pan with fresh berries, walnuts, toasted bread and cranberry sauce. Watch the whole dish sizzle when the sauce is poured on the cheese. Scoop up the brie on toast with bits of all the berries and nut and you'll be awarded with a savory and sweet dessert unlike any other sweet endings.

Wine & Tapas Night at Gallo Wine Bar, Taman Desa. The Mushroom Threesome – RM18.00++.

This was a nice dish to go with the wine. Essentially three (3) types of mushrooms namely Portobello mushrooms, button mushrooms, and Eringi (king oyster) mushrooms deep-fried with served some duck bacon and onion rings. A very addictive dish indeed.

Gallo Wine Bar – Sri Petaling. A modern speakeasy style wine bar, tucked away on the first floor, blink and you might just miss the entrance.

With a secret door, soft lighting and soothing jazz, Gallo Wine Bar has created a beautiful ambience, to enjoy their sensational menu and incredible wine from across the globe. Maybe it's the mirrored ceiling or the lack of windows in the main room, but there is something undeniably cool about it. It really does feel like you've been transported into an elegant speakeasy without the tacky cliches.

Panchos Mid Valley City Where can one find a burrito in KL that hasn't been bastardised with fried chicken and mayonnaise? Enter Panchos, a homegrown and independent fast food-style restaurant reminiscent of a taco shop. It's a good-looking taco shop too; Aztec print walls, suspended light bulbs and a bare cement floor that wouldn't look out of place in a cool neighbourhood café.

My first Panchos experience was a takeaway chipotle beef burrito – reheated after a few hours. Even with the tortilla a little on the soggy side (thanks to the microwave), this was a pleasant first experience. A burrito is typically a tortilla stuffed and rolled up with rice, beans, pico de gallo (fresh tomato salsa), lettuce, sour cream, cheese and meat; amazingly all the ingredients were on point.

Huckleberry After Dark. Start with the Wholly Guacamole, available not only in the familiar original chunky recipe (RM13.90) but also as a Wack Guac that's spiked with pickled ginger for a pleasurable zing (RM14.50).

And of course, there are tacos; choose from battered fish with slaw, jalapenos & pico de gallo (RM19.90) or BBQ beef with coriander & sour cream (RM21.90).

Gallo Wine Bar @ Sri Petaling, Kuala Lumpur. Doesn't matter if you're an amateur wine drinker or a connoisseur as Gallo Wine Bar has over 300 variety for all wine-obssessed, ranging from below RM100 up to (very) premium.
