The Heart Kuala Lumpur

Found in the heart of Kuala Lumpur you will find this spectacular hidden bar, one of the cities best-kept secrets. As the name suggests, this is a German-themed bar, with a cool and edgy vibe to it and is located in Chinatown(Look for a red door along Jalan Tun HS Lee).

Inside you will find walls covered in photos of Berlin's past, neon signs of the city's name and a bar that showcases the vast liquor collection, keeping the space as a well thought out representation of Berlin.

Bars In Kuala Lumpur

Located in Chinatown. PS150 is a unique space that has been divided into three different sections.

You can either chill out in the vintage styled "Opium Den", sip on some cocktails in the open-air courtyard area known as the "Tiki or Post-war space" or you can join in on the action in the main bar area where you will find a mix of modern and old. With a variety of options, depending on your mood, this is one of the best bars in Kuala Lumpur.

Minced Chicken Dried Meat

Baked Dried Meat Kepong. The First of Many First. In 1970, Mr & Mrs Khue opened their first stall in Chinatown. In those days, Pork was used to make dried meat and the couple soon realised that the sliced dried meat was not suitable for the elderly and young as it was rather difficult to chew.

Mr. Khue started the first of many innovations in the dried meat industry. He created minced chicken dried meat and went on to introduce minced pork, and duck delicacies. This not only meant that it was gentler on the palettes of the young and elderly.

Red Bean Paste

ChinaTown Dessert, Pandan Indah, Sesame Snow Skin Roll with Red Bean Paste (RM4.20). I like the attractive presentation, as well as its taste which is not too sweet in overall.

The flavor is mostly from the red bean paste, a generous amount of sesame was fully covered the outer layer for extra fragrance.

Focus Hairdressing @ Chinatown Point / Cuppage Plaza. What Focus Hairdressing lacks in ambience, they make up with being a trusty, down-to-earth salon that many Beauty Undercover agents go back to again and again for Dyna Rebonding and MUCOTA Omega Rebonding.

Many salons out there use inferior products but here, Focus Hairdressing use only genuine products on customers' hair.

Bak Kwa. Also known as Rou Gan in Mandarin, and for KL-ites we call it Long Yuk. Pork slices are marinated in 'secret' ingredients and grilled.

Chinese pork jerky of sorts. Most popular with Singaporeans during Chinese New Year. We buy Bak Kwa all year round, from a shop in Chinatown called Lim Chee Guan, but not during Chinese New Year as the queue is too long and the prices go up astronomically due to the high demand. Bak Kwa is also the #1 most requested food item for friends and family when I visit them in London.
