Every Time

Cencaluk is a Malay food that I'll try every time I visit Melaka. I always buy at a stall along the roads near Klebang Beach.

It is made of fermented small shrimps and is usually served as a condiment together with chillis, shallots and lime juice. I simply love the sour and salty taste!

Gyukingu Japanese Restaurant

Gyukingu Japanese Restaurant at kota damansara. New style of happy hour. Since so many fake beer, this place so many type of wine, japanese wine, tap beer and etc.

It is also a little dark, but I simply love the ambiance of dark places like pub or bar. Bar table also available. Meanwhile drinking can enjoy japanese grill beef.

Ice Cream

Since I'm not shopping for real, I vote FINN Collection by Norm Architects, simply because I love the aesthetics. What I hate a lot are standard picnic tables with uncomfortable and difficult to access bench seats.

I'll sit at them if necessary, like at the local handmade ice cream parlor, but then the ice cream overrides my comfort objections!!

Chinese New Year

Dried Sweet Meat - Bak Kwa Kl. A favorite snack that gets mostly eaten around Chinese New Year although it's available all year round, the barbecued dried sweet meat or bak kwa is usually made of pork or chicken, and has a sweet salty taste that can be quite addictive, and might probably not be too kind on your waistline but it certainly tastes delicious!

Long Farm Meat Sdn Bhd. Bakkwa / BBQ Dried Meat Kepong.

The surface of the bakkwa is coated with honey, making it has a balance of sweet and salty taste. It does not taste dry as the moisture has been locked inside the meat.

Fish Sauce

Settling ourselves down, our dinner started off with several salads, all done Thai-style, of course. We had the Chicken Feet Salad (RM16/22), Abalone Salad (RM26) and the Glass Noodles Seafood Salad (RM20).

The boneless chicken feet were crunchy and had totally absorbed the spicy tangy dressing made from lime juice, fish sauce, lemongrass and lots of chillies. The abalone and glass noodles salads tasted similar as the same dressing was used.

Taman Tun Dr Ismail

Famous Malaysian Food To Try Before You Die. Taman Tun Dr Ismail Night Market (Sundays).

OUG Night Market (Thursdays). What is Popiah?: This Malaysian roll usually consists of radish, bean sprouts, egg, shallots, and cabbage wrapped in a thin paper-like crepe smeared with a tasty sweet-and-savoury sauce. A scrumptious albeit potentially messy appetizer, each bite offers bursts of flavours that will leave you hungry for more.
