Now the Volkswagen Vento is actually the Volkswagen Polo Sedan. Volkswagen had decided the name needed to be changed for this facelift.

According to them the reason for this was because they had done quite a bit of facelifting underneath the exterior of the car which gets a little bit more chrome trimming, new bumpers, new headlights, new taillights and new cosmetic bits inside (New, more upmarket looking steering wheel especially).

1.2liter turbocharged direct injection unit is now coupled to a 7 speed dual clutch gearbox or DSG which Volkswagen likes to call it. It now makes 105ps and 175Nm of torque. The 1.6liter engine and gearbox are carried over from the Polo Sedan and are called the Volkswagen Vento Trendline and Comfortline respectively.

Wait. 105Ps sounds like it makes the same like the older 1.6liter engine. Well it is but the more basic 1.6 makes less torque – 153Nm.

I think the ride is a little bit busier than the 15 inch setup but I can notice the difference in grip in the corners and also on the high speed runs on the highway. It also allows you to take more advantage of the extra torque coming from the turbocharged 1.2liter engine. The Volkswagen Vento now feels a little more alive with the extra torque.

175Nm against 153Nm makes a whole lot of difference. I think this is so much more beneficial than horsepower. Torque is what makes the car feel accelerative and makes overtaking easier.

Hatchbacks Volkswagen Polo Have had my VW POLO 1.2 tsi comfortline for 20 months and 31,000 km and the car has not a single problem to date - even after a minor collision - resulting in a small dent in the bonnet - there are no rattles or squeaks. There are enough VW dealers not to worry about servicing. I feel sorry about the relatively few people who have had bad experiences but looking at the number of VW cars on Sydney roads there are many many happy VW owners.

Hatchbacks Volkswagen Polo Check the wiring loom next to the battery, if it is not connect properly all the electrics fail one time or another ,I had the same issues. ,VW service could not fix it , I found it myself out of pure frustration, its another story with my blue tooth system , The Gear Box Failed , the electrics failed, played up after that ,the A/C failed ,the lights played up , the steering went strange, the gea r box would make a strange grinding noise , when I took it into the workshop they told me that the lights are pulsating lights ,the the past 14 months I have had no blue tooth system in my car THE SERVICE MANAGER HAS ADVISED ME THAT NO FIX IS AVAILABLE FOR MY CAR , hows that for service , the car is currently in at the workshop again having a road noise coming up

Hatchbacks Volkswagen Polo Bought my polo TSI comfort line/ comfort pack in May 2014, since then can hear a weird noise from the dash that the dealership insists does not exist, my BLUETOOTH has been nonexistent since I purchased it, to which the dealership manager has advised there is no solution for!! I'm am so angry, disappointed and upset with them that I literally cried from frustration after my last conversation with them! The dealership are useless and rude (Essendon VW) I have had new cars my whole life and my husband drives an Audi (which is amazing along with amazing service) Strange! Considering they are sister companies!

Never have I experienced such bad service and quality. No one is whiling to help me! $22k down the drain! This is absolutely unjust and unacceptable!

Volkswagen Vento performance from the 1.2liter engine 7 speed DSG surprisingly smooth and normal feeling (best so far by a 7 speed DSG), good grip and handling, very predictable till the limit, interior space, good build quality (for the price), economical – 8.9l/100km even after serious high speed driving, heck of a lot of tech for the price offered, nice long legged feel for highway driving.
