The new Gear VR is light and compact, which lends itself well to extended sessions spent strapped to your face. The original Gear VR only worked with the Galaxy Note 4. The Innovator Edition for the Galaxy S6 worked with the S6, and the S6 Edge.

This time, you've got more options. The phones tuck into a docking port cryptically labeled "A" or "B" -- the 5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ fit into A, and you'll need to slide the port over to B to fit the 5.1-inch Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 Edge. The Gear VR will also support the new Samsung Galaxy S7, and Galaxy S7 Edge.

Galaxy Note 4

Galaxy Note 4 The camera is great. It is better than my S4, which always had my friends with iphones complimenting the quality of its pictures. Here is where I don't really understand the well accepted belief in the tech media that "iphones have the best cameras".

My assessment may not be scientific as I don't look at smudging, color accuracy, etc...with special devices, I just know that regular people tend to be amazed by the pictures my Samsung phones have taken. One thing I have noticed that many reviewers have missed or not mentioned, is that the volume rocker acts as a dedicated shutter release in camera mode (front and rear). I find this to be much more practical than using the heart rate sensor as a shutter release. The device works well as a phone and mini computer

Galaxy Note 4

Galaxy Note 4 As a T-mobile customer, I received my Note 4 last week. The phone is solid and feels great in the hand. As I am one of those people that does not mind the "plastic" of past Samsung phones, I was happy that the addition of metal did not make the phone uncomfortably heavy. I have the charcoal black edition and think it looks much nicer in real life than in pictures...all glass with a thin metal band (and no gap).

The screen is the star, as most reviews have stated. It's beautiful! Pictures and videos...everything looks awesome on this screen. The battery life is great...after a 9 hour day at work, I get home with 80 percent charge remaining (compared with 40 percent on my S4). I am still learning how to use the S pen.

The Sony Xperia Z5 landed last month to a wave of enthusiasm. But is the Z5 the game-changer Xperia fans were hoping for? Yes, it is – in the camera department.

Elsewhere, not so much. Check out the above video for more details. If you're not familiar with my buying guides, check out my run-down of the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium, the Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Moto X Play.

Samsung Galaxy Note

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 A really bad review IMO. On several counts making unsubstantiated judgements. The Note 5 has the best camera on a phone, no question. Every side-by-side test shows it is better than the other top phones, Sony Z5, LG G4, Nexus 6p, and LG v10. The camera on this phone's one distinction is how NON flat and dull it is.

It is the latest iPhones which consistently have flat and dull images, have a look at any of the side by side's done recently. No idea if this reviewer is on some payroll or is just ignorant, but this review is way off the mark. BTW, I have a nexus 6p. Big fan of Samsung, especially Note series, using Note4, wanted to upgrade to Note5, liked the design and most new features. didnt like that there is no more SD card slot but thats ok. can manage.
