Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge Review Design and Hardware No more plastic textured like an elephant's butt. No more chrome-effect trim, pretending unconvincingly to be real metal. The Samsung Galaxy S6 gives up on materials trying to masquerade as other materials, and the result is not only a more rewarding design, but a more authentic one, too.

The frame is metal, curved and carved to maintain that familiar Galaxy silhouette and then finished off with an anodized finish that's smooth yet easy to grip. Front and back are topped with sheets of Gorilla Glass 4, toughened and scratch-resistant. The seams between them are near-invisible, Samsung's tolerances producing a device that looks hewn from a whole rather than assembled.

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

Curved displays The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge wowed us with its delightfully curving dual screens earlier this year, and it's fair to say we're rather smitten with this futuristic look. No image such sultry curves on an Apple designed smartphone. We're going weak at the knees already.

Go on Apple, wrap that screen round the edges of the iPhone 7 and we'll more than likely be in love. Those things affect usability. But OTOH, who really gives a hoot about *even more* screen resolution (do you want to watch movies on the thing?), or curved glass (seriously, what difference does it make)? Surely there are more innovative, user-friendly, and genuinely *useful* features out there on the phone market that Apple might adopt (or improve on)?

Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge

We had previously heard that the curved version of the Galaxy S6 would launch as the Samsung Galaxy Edge, although some new information has contradicted the previous rumors. A trademark filing for two new smartphones by Samsung has been discovered in South Korea and it looks like the rumored Galaxy Edge will actually launch as the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge.

Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge Review Samsung's aesthetic reawakening has also demanded functional compromises, however, some of which the Galaxy-faithful are yet to get over. For a start, theres no removable battery. Samsung has opted instead for a fixed Li-Ion pack, since that means it can seal up the rear panel and make things slimmer.

For similar reasons, there's no microSD memory card slot. Meanwhile, the useful waterproofing of previous phones has been dropped by the wayside, too. Samsung is, ironically, a victim of its own marketing success here. For the past few generations of Galaxy, the company has been happy to slam its rivals - the iPhone particularly - for not including either a removable battery or a memory card slot.

Samsung Galaxy S6

Samsung Galaxy S6 and S6 edge Review There are two glaring issues to my eyes. The first is the bulbous camera on the back, a jutting lens that protrudes through the glass.

Second is the bottom view, where the headphone jack, microUSB jack, and drilled speaker holes skirt notably close to how Apple designed the base of the iPhone 6.

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime

Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime with 5.5” display with and FHD (1080) resolution, oh my god. Even Samsung got Full HD (1080p) but Oppo F1s 5.5-inch HD (720p) IPS TFT display. Its CPU is Octacore 1.6ghz Cortex-A53 that also runs using Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) but with the bigger 3 GB RAM. The built in storage likewise sits at 16 GB, which you can also expand up to 256 GB via Micro SD.

Similarly, its rear camera has 13 mp, yet its selfie camera has the bigger 8 mp. 2.5D Curved Gorilla Glass 4 touchscreen. More powerful non-removable Li-Ion 3300 mAh battery. Fingerprint sensor.
