Avanza still carries a compact body that encloses a surprisingly roomy space. It is 4190mm long, 1660 wide and stands 1695 tall.

This space can convert from carrying seven passengers in three rows of seats, to transporting long or tall objects. Outward visibility isn't great compared to other vans, but it's better than most taller crossovers.

If you need three rows of seats every day, and do not have $65K for a new Suburban, minivan is the ONLY way to go. We had downsized from 2005 Yukon XL to a 2014 Pathfinder, and that was fine for a while. But when surprise baby #4 came along, we realized the limitations of the CUV.

Legs must bend so much. This is better a bit than grand livina because look like the third row seat a bit higher. Just wondering will it block the drive view the rear.

row seats, headroom is passable and legroom is poor, but if the second-row seats are slid forward (to one of eight fore-aft positions), those legs, knees and feet right at the back have a bit more parking space. The two talking heads in the third row, incidentally, don't receive much air-con (there are no extra a/c vents beyond those on the dashboard), which might be an issue in our hot weather.

There's plenty of space in the first row, but the seats are pretty narrow, with the one on the left also having too little travel / adjustment towards the rear.
