Intel Core I5-7200u

Intel Core i5-7200U 2.71 GHz with 8GB RAM. Without the keyboard cover, the Miix 510 weighs just shy of 900g.

The biggest problem is that we found the keyboard flexes a bit. And if you're a hard typist in any way (which device makers seem to be catering less and less for) then the keyboard bounces rather angrily. Light typing is always preferable.

Lenovo Miix 510 Starting at:$899.99 7th Generation Intel® Core™ i5-7200U Processor (2.50GHz 3MB) and 8GB DDR4 2133 MHz (Onboard). This laptop/tablet is very convenient to have. It's light, easy to use, and fun.

The display is bright, and clear. I have been using this tablet/keyboard for six months and it is reliable and has excellent performance. No complaints.

Surface Pro 4

Samsung Galaxy Book 12 Review. t's a clean, minimalistic design, and fairly lightweight too. At 754 grams complete with the keyboard attached, it undercuts the Surface Pro 4 slightly.

That's despite the Samsung having a slightly larger, 39.04W battery. Inside, there's a 7th-generation Intel Core i5-7200U 3.1GHz dual-core, paired with 8GB of memory and a 256GB SSD. Samsung also offers an LTE configuration.

Longer Periods Time

Does the Miix 510 work as a tablet? Usage as a tablet feels quite good. The Miix 510 is heavier than your average tablet, but then again it is also bigger and more powerful. It feels comfortable to hold in your hands (without the keyboard folio) for reading.

The weight is about 880g (again, without the keyboard folio), which is a big on the heavy side in case you want to hold it for longer periods of time. It certainly is heavier than an iPad (I currently use an iPad Mini). Battery life exceeds my expectations.

Apple Ipad Pro

The 9.7-inch Apple iPad Pro is portable and easy to carry around outside of the house. During the checkout process, you can also purchase Apple's Smart Keyboard cover, which is a combo keyboard-cover peripheral.

The keyboard cover isn't an essential accessory for the 9.7-inch Pro, since the onscreen touch keyboard is manageable to type on. But considering how heavily the Pro is touted as a laptop replacement, the fact that a physical keyboard remains a separate accessory is a nuisance. Elsewhere, the Pro includes a standard suite of hardware features.

Lenovo Miix 720

If you really don't care about the detachable keyboard, your money might be better spent on something like a cheaper Lenovo Yoga notebook, with a keyboard which folds back behind the screen but doesn't actually detach. The keyboard cover is impressive, but still might frustrate those who spend their days typing.

Lenovo Miix 720 keyboard it's actually one of the best slimline keyboards I've tested. Bought myself an 11-inch Lenovo Yoga 710 for travel – for less than $999 – I have to say I prefer its keyboard over the Miix's keyboard, even though the Lenovo Yoga keyboard is a tad small

Samsung Galaxy Book

Samsung Galaxy Book 12 Review. What you do get is the battery free S Pen, which uses Wacom's digitizer technology, and the keyboard cover.

Get too enthusiastic with your on-screen taps, or try to balance the whole assembly on your lap, and I found the Galaxy Book had a tendency to slip back. I much prefer the kick-stand design Microsoft uses, or indeed that of HP Spectre x2 series. They also have the benefit of allowing you to stand up the tablet alone, even if it's detached from the keyboard.
