Kaws X Air Jordan Iv

Kaws x Air Jordan IV. The Kaws x Air Jordan IV had all the ingredients necessary for a huge sneaker hit—a classic Air Jordan model, a collaboration with the right artist at the right time, premium construction, thoughtfully designed packaging, and limited production numbers.

All that would have been enough even without the sneaker itself being terrific. But it was.

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star

Converse Chuck Taylor All Star With Nike FlyKnit. The Chuck Taylor has seen a lot of variations of its form of late.

Here's yet another, and one particularly suited to prolonged wear: the Converse Chuck Taylor All Star With Nike FlyKnit. Nike's trickle down tech adorns this sneaker with a FlyKnit upper that's lightweight, breathable, and snug fitting, not unlike a sock, with more stretch and flexibility than the traditional canvas. It pairs this to a Lunarlon insole to add cushioning and a bit more give to the vulcanized rubber sole.

Tennis has been a rich source of sneakerhead lust because the sport's traditional all-white dress code spawned something most men now have somewhere in the foot locker: the minimalist white sneaker. No Stan Smith, no Common Projects.

Most brands have a version of it and even other racquet sports have contributed some retro trainers that have stood the test of time (the Converse Jack Purcell being the standout).

The sneaker world won't stop buzzing about Adidas's success these days, but it's a Nike number that we're crowning the sneaker of summer. The Nike VaporMax was released initially back in March, to coincide with the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 1 that started it all, but the shoes signaled a radical evolution for the Air Max family—and for Nike in general.

Versions made with Comme Des Garçons and Off-White have generated the most buzz amongst fashion-forward types.

This is not the busiest week in the sneaker world, but it does feature some unique pairs that are worth grabbing. Both Reebok and Nike are offering multicolored knit versions of their racing sneakers, giving you a couple of great options for bright, new shoes.

There's a Flyknit update to the Sock Racer, an old school Nike silhouette that deserves as much love as you can muster for it.

Tom Sachs x Nike Mars Yard 2.0. Back in 2012, New York City artist Tom Sachs teamed up with Nike to create the NikeCraft Mars Yard, a space-inspired sneaker that was meant to be worn.

Sachs did just that, by wear-testing the shoes for years. During that time he realized that the sneakers could've been designed better, so nearly five years later the Tom Sachs x NikeCraft Mars Yard 2.0 were finally introduced this year. The updated version looks nearly identical to the original, but there were several key changes.
