Don't Forget Wash All Down
Meaning “Big Tree” in Cantonese, Dai Shu Tow is a roadside mamak stall located at Persiaran Mergastua, near the Durian street in Kepong. The stall is very popular among the locals, especially Chinese, who like to come here to enjoy a hot plate of Nasi Lemak with Indian-style Fried Chicken for dinner or supper. Most people will go for the fried chicken whole leg that is deep-fried until the skin is crispy and meat tender. Don't forget to wash them all down with the mamak's signature BIG drink, which is triple the size of a normal drink!

Yong Tau Fu
rif and I stumbled across the curry mee stall at Kedai Kopi Ah Soon by accident. This stall serves something similar to what Jess Café is serving – yong tau fu with curry noodles. While the curry mee was just alright in my opinion, it was the yong tau fu that stole the show.
The nasi lemak stall is also popular here but we didn't get to try this as they were sold out.

Can't Go Wrong
Village Park Nasi Lemak - If you're looking for a hearty and satisfying breakfast you really can't go wrong with nasi lemak, and you can't go wrong with Village Park. The “nasi lemak” (rice infused with coconut milk) is light and fluffy and the sambal is flavourful and slightly sweet, but the star on the plate is without a doubt, the chicken. The chicken is marinated with a host of spices and then deep fried to perfection with a crispy skin and moist, juicy flesh.

Unicorn Cafe Melaka
Unicorn Cafe Melaka Nasi Lemak with Chicken Rendang. RM7.90. This was from my 3rd visit and apart from the pongteh, popiah and chendol, I ordered the nasi lemak. The sambal is on the sweet side, the anchovies thin, fresh and crunchy and the rice redolent with coconut milk. In fact, the rice was excellent enough on its own.
The chicken rendang was a tad salty for me though.

Likemom Coffee KL
After a revamp by its Korean owners, Likemom Coffee at Plaza Damas now serves a local menu of Nyonya and Malaysian food (the nasi lemak rendang comes highly recommended) in addition to Korean fare like bibimbap and ramen. Dutch coffee (somewhat like cold brew, but instead of steeping, ice water is dripped over coffee for a more potent brew) is also available here.
