I wait for 75% off sales on good quality sheets, then use them for years and years. I don't aim for high thread count sheets (as other have said the higher thread counts sheets have finer threads, rather than more threads), but it does seem that I bought a 1000TC set the last time around.

It will be interesting to see how they go. I've bought high end cotton sateen sheets in the past and have never had them pill. But, I rarely use the dryer (and never bleach).

I've been buying them for 10 years now. I know someone above said they didn't like sateen sheets, but I love these. Pieces are sold separately (another feature I love about these sheets) - I think a queen set ends up being about $200.

I will been looking for sheets for a while but have like no money lol but today at bed bath and beyond i found damask stripe 420 thread count 100% cotton sateen sheets on clearance for $14.99 i got 2 sets of that in red and in black and 1 set of 350 thread count sheets in a golden yellow for $9.99 their in the wash now so i'll see how they hold up. Ikea.
