Southeast Asia
Straits Chinese or more accurately, Baba Nonya cuisine, features Chinese ingredients cooked with Malay spices and cooking techniques. The Southeast Asia food we eat today is derived from ancient cultures that utilise unique herbs and spices of the region such as clove, star anise, cinnamon, turmeric, galangal, candlenut, lemongrass, torch ginger and kaffir lime leaves.

Always Wanted
The cooking class sounds great. Hubby always wanted to learn more Southeast Asian cooking techniques. I seriously do hate cooking but this class has pushed me towards ‘foodie' now. And sambal? What an amazing difference it makes when it's fresh and diverse. Shuk and Nazlina (in Penang) are two of the top cooking classes in Malaysia that I'm aware of.
