Kampar Curry Chicken Bread

Kampar Curry Chicken Bread @ Kam Ling Restaurant Anyway, we decided to embark on a short, day trip to Teluk Intan in the southern region of the state of Perak. I wrote about Teluk Intan only once in my blog, if I recall correctly.

That was when we visited Keng Heng Coffee Shop in town for breakfast, then lunch at Lana Tea House. But of course, I neglected the urge to write about the repeated visits to the town famous for the iconic leaning tower (yup, don't go thinking ONLY Italy has one) right smack in town centre, the incomparable Teluk Intan Chee Cheong Fun, and fresh seafood supplied by its neighbouring town of Hutan Melintang. (Read about our lunch at Men Lok Seafood @ Hutan Melintang)

Restoran G Cheong Fun

Restoran G Cheong Fun in Johor. This restaurant offer all my favorite food when I am kids. such as Yam Cake.

This beautifully presented yam cake was of the more course version, with a more grainy texture. Despite that, the yam flavors were also far more intense. Garnished with fried shallots and spring onions, this rustic and wholesome dish would make the perfect local breakfast meal anytime.

Chee Cheong Fun

Restoran G. Cheong Fun, Johor. Open until lunch hour only.

For those who feel bathing the spongy rice rolls with prawn gravy is mundane or isn't cutting-edge enough, make your way to this unassuming restaurant. Among the most vaunted version is drowning the chee cheong fun with curry, which is mildly spicy yet savoury. Yam Cake and Pig Skin Curry. Teh Ais with Gula Melaka.

Full House

This place is full house all the time. Pork Noodle at Restoran Sang Kee, Pandan Jaya, KL. The soup is really sweet and it's cheap too.

Back in 2013 it is RM5.00 per bowl. Now it is RM7.00 per bowl. Each bowl of soup has fried intestines, "lap cheong" (chinese sausage), pork+fish paste balls, and minced marinated pork.
