Best Brunch Meals In Kl

Best Brunch Meals In Kl
The best brunch meals in KL. Chilli cheese toast with fried egg at Huckleberry Food & Fare, RM13.90. Whatever your reason, the bakery cafe Asian take on a Welsh rarebit may sound simple (especially when put against tempting brunch favourites eggs Benedict, banana French toast and shakshuka) but it's big on flavours: a large slice of multigrain bread is slathered with béchamel and grilled with spring onions, green chillies, sambal and mozzarella cheese for a spicy sweet kick to what's essentially cheese on toast.

Storey Corner Lot

Storey Corner Lot
Banana leaf rice at Sri Ganapathi Mess, from RM5. Escape the lunch time throng at Bangsar's banana leaf joints and head to Sri Ganapathi Mess for a quieter and frankly, tastier banana leaf experience. Once a secret PJ hideaway, the single storey corner lot house is fast becoming a cult favourite for its heady South Indian curries and spicy sides. Don't be content with the default serving of rice and vegetables; go all out on the fried-to-order seafood, Chettinad style goat intestine curry, crab rasam and the addictive deep-fried bitter gourd perfumed with curry leaves.

Make Matters Worse
Restoran Jaya Seberang Jaya at Penang. The customer service was terrible. We had to go to the counter and place our orders. To make matters worse the cashier asked us to go and find a waiter to check whether the banana leaf rice we that we want to order is available. Almost all waiters there are very rude including the cashier.

Banana French Toast

Banana French Toast
Roasted banana French toast at BreadFruits Café, RM22.80. It's not often that a café goes to the lengths of harvesting and bottling their own wild honey, which makes this Hartamas joint a notable exception. Locally harvested from wild hives in Pahang rainforests, the wild honey at Breadfruits adds a complex layer of flavour to its brunch line-up. Gently pour the treacle-like liquid over the roasted banana French toast (topped with a sprinkling of chopped almonds) and tuck right in.

Banana Kaya Dessert

Banana Kaya Dessert
Banana Kaya Dessert Domino's Pizza
I had the privilege of tasting this new item at the launch party two weeks ago. The Banana Kaya dessert comes with light and buttery crust sprinkled with icing sugar. Filling the middle is a generous layer of sweet, authentic pandan kaya made from rich coconut cream, fresh egg and aromatic pandan leaves and topped with oven baked banana slices that marry well with the spread. It's about the size of your personal pan pizza which you can either have it all to yourself or share it (the calories, that is) among your friends!
