Hainan Chicken Rice
What to eat at Kepong, especially late afternoon, when all the food court closed. Nine Percent Hainan Kopitiam. Very nice Hainan Chicken Rice. Very long time no tried the chicken rice, the rice very tasty with a lot butter and ginger taste. Real chicken rice, the rice rich in aroma. The chicken very soft and smooth, especially the chicken skin. Too bad the chicken sauce not very tasty but still acceptable. With air cond at the price RM 12 for chicken rice in shoplot, ok lah.

Alor Akar Seafood Restaurant
Alor Akar Seafood Restaurant Kuantan. Curry grouper fish head. Even fish head but still a lot of meat. The fish meat so hard almost like chicken meat. Fish skin is crunchy. Not so much MSG, still can taste the fish taste. My father like it so much. He said this one bowl curry fish head enough for one meal with rice.

Fish Curry $4.70
Their fish curry here is good too. The rempah, which they prepare themselves every week by frying over a slow fire over many hours forms the base for all the curries. When they cook the fish curry, they use a different spice blend and add tamarind for a bit of tang. I didn't try their curry fish head but their fish curry is very good. It is a cross between the lemak (rich, coconutty) version and the assam (tangy) version which is, again, what I like.
Their curry fish head sells out pretty early in the day too.

Yong Tau Fu
Located at the popular PJ Old Town Food Court, Seong Kee is the no. 35 stall that offers a wide variety of dishes, including Yong Tau Fu, Curry Fish Head, and Fried Chicken Wings. Many patrons like to come here for their famous fried chicken wings, which are served with a pair of chicken wings that are chopped into halves. The chicken wings are well marinated with a secret flour mixture that makes the chicken wings not only fragrant and delicious, but also very crispy.
