Next Time

My wife favourite squids and prawns. But we might skip the seafood next time; it takes more effort & care to cook, offering potentially lesser returns versus the meat.

Plus point: Ventilation at the powerfully air-conditioned Rocku Yakiniku is excellent, so you might not risk leaving the restaurant smelling of smoky meat. Then again, we were here on a weekday afternoon when the outlet was mostly empty, so there wasn't too much heat & cooking going on around us to tax the venue's capabilities.

Baby's Full Month Cakes

Baby's Full Month Cakes from The Pine Garden. The Dim Sum Box Set from The Pine Garden is a delightful throwback to more traditional times, comprising glutinous rice, red eggs and ang ku kueh (for girls) or ang yi (for boys) packed in a round bamboo steamer.

For a modern touch, BFM04 replaces glutinous rice with mini cupcakes, presented in baby blue or pink gift boxes.

Around Kuala Lumpur

Firstly we did the Melaka Day Tour.. It was great to visit all the different places of worship, church, temple, mosque.. Followed by a yummy Chinese lunch..

Then onto St Francis Ruins. Finally onto Jonker street to try a nice chendol and pineapple tarts Second tour we did was the City tour including the fire flies. Visited different places around Kuala Lumpur in the first half of the day, then the second part we went to the Fire flies, on the way we stopped at the hot springs, also stopped to feed the Silver leafed monkeys on a hill which was the highlight of the tour. Last tour we did was the Cameron Highlands, where you get to visit a whole lot of different places, tea factory, butterflies park, bees park, strawberry park and a nice local lunch in a Nasi Kandar.

Mango Ice my favourite. Lower Ground Floor The Gardens Mall, Mid Valley CityLet's be honest, only locals get tired of Jonker Walk – but we never do! There's always so much to see and so much to eat!

We found ourselves headed to Melaka for a quick getaway, and treated ourselves to some decadent shaved mango ice (RM7.50). Mmm-mmm-mm! Here's our guide to navigating this historical landmark, and getting the best food out of Jonker Street!
