Huge Variety
Joo Seng Teochew Porridge & Rice. This is my go-to place for Teochew porridge fix – just 5 mins drive away from Bukit Timah. The braised duck meat and boiled squid are particularly good and very consistent in quality. A huge variety of dishes including a few non Teochew delights greet visitors – indeed it is somewhat akin to an “economical rice” stall. Address: 14 Cheong Chin Nam Road, Singapore 599738
Operating hours: 10am – 4am (Daily)

The Tong Po Meat is a must to try.
Ordered five dishes including their signature dish - coconut prawn for 7 people. Bill came out to RM129. Highly recommended for seafood lovers. Due to the high volume of customers, I would recommend people to do booking beforehand to avoid delay and disappointment.

Hong Kong

Hong Kong
Sometimes chicken rice stalls will sell duck rice as well, but the real good ducks are in specialized duck rice only shops. The common version of duck rice, influenced by roast meats in Hong Kong, uses plain white rice with ruby red roasted duck, and is drizzled with braised sauce. The other Teochew version uses braised yam rice and braised duck meat, along with some tau pok, eggs and peanuts on the side. Teochews just love braised sauce. Both are equally yummy and have distinctively different taste profiles. Lian Kee Braised Duck: 49 Sims Place, Sims Vista Market and Food Centre, Singapore.
