Samsung Galaxy Tab E
Samsung Galaxy Tab E has great build quality and specifications targeted toward entry-level and non-business users. Physically, the 9.6-inch tablet has dimensions of 9.5 x 5.9 x 0.38 inches and a weight of 1.2 pounds. While it's notably bulkier than most entry-level tablets, which typically occupy the 7-inch to 8-inch range, in our hands-on testing we found that the Tab E is sturdily built. The tablet's rounded edges and seams, along with a black textured backside, give it a remarkably premium feel versus comparable entry-level tablets.

Ipad Air 2
The Apple iPad Air 2 solid aluminum body is durable and excellently built. While the iPad Air 2 processor is still fast enough for most home users, it no longer provides best-in-class performance. With its premium components and great build quality, the iPad Air 2 is capable of handling work and play without a misstep. At first glance, the Apple iPad Air 2 is closer to a refresh than a dramatic upgrade of its predecessor. The tablet computer has the same slim design and aluminum backing used on the first iPad Air.

Asus Zenpad S
Overall, the ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 is a tablet that readily separates itself from the entry-level pack. While its modest battery life keeps it a noticeable step behind the best tablets, its strong build quality and high-resolution display are premium features offered at an accessible price point.

Asus Zenpad S
Compared to other tablets we reviewed, the ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 battery life leaves much to be desired. With six hours and 47 minutes of runtime, it's one of the weakest batteries we've seen. Ideally – especially for a non-budget tablet — batteries should last for nine hours or more. One area in which the ZenPad shines is its display. The 2048 x 1536 screen doesn't have the highest resolution you can get in a tablet, but nevertheless, it displays crisp and clear images. This is an IPS screen, which means it has good color reproduction and excellent viewing angles.

Asus Zenpad S
The ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 only comes in an 8-inch model. It is impressive that ASUS managed to pack everything into those 8 inches and keep the weight down. At only .66 pounds, this is one of the lightest tablets in our review. Although the power button is oddly placed towards the middle of the tablet's right side, the tablet has a clean design and sturdy build quality. In particular, the back of the tablet has a small leather grip that makes it easy to hold in your hands.

Graphics Test 3dmark Ice Storm
During our testing, ASUS ZenPad S 8.0 onscreen text and images were displayed with stellar fidelity and sharpness. For a non-premium-priced tablet, it also has a steady performance ceiling. In performance test Geekbench 3 and graphics test 3DMark Ice Storm Unlimited, the tablet had respective scores of 2,855 and 13,041 points. While its graphic performance is a step below the best tablets – which generally hit the 20,000 point range – its processor was still fast enough to handle tasks like web browsing and multitasking in our hands-on testing.

Cuisinart PowerEdge CBT-1000 Series
If you want a high-performance blender but don't want to pay an excessive price, the Cuisinart PowerEdge 1.3HP is a smart pick. The base sports beautifully backlit buttons pre-programmed for common tasks — smoothie and ice crushing, as well as pulse, high, and low. Its blue LED display shows you how long you've been blending and alerts you after four straight minutes to prevent overheating. Of all the blenders we tested, the PowerEdge was the quietest. One minor drawback: The pulse function is relatively limited.
