Jalan Transfer, Penang. Meet Malaysia's answer to Eggs Benedict the humble Roti Bakar. Simply put literally, it's eggs on toast but on a sensory level it transcends that definition. Two perfect half-boiled eggs sitting atop skillfully charred freshly baked Benggali bread slathered with margarine and sugar. As a result of a longer baking process vis-a-vis white bread, Benggali bread is much more fluffier and airy. This shone through in the toast. This shone through in the toast. Crunchy on the outside yet fluffy and airy on the inside. I've never had toast and eggs quite like this before!

Chicken Curry
Sri Nirwana Maju Banana Leaf - The basic banana leaf comes with rice, 3 sides, lime pickle, rasem, papadom and enough gravy to drench the rice any way you want it. You can pick from chicken curry, fish curry or dhal. There is one particular side that everyone comes for and that is the fried bitter gourd. It's crunchy on the outside and soft in the middle, the spices used in the batter is just perfect and you just can't help but eat one piece after another.

Kaya Toast

Kaya Toast
Yut Kee Restaurant, Jalan Kamunting, Chow Kit. What is Roti Bakar?: A popular breakfast item, this light yet satisfying bite proves that sometimes the sum of parts really is greater than the whole. While regular kaya toast and buttered toast taste fine on their own, together they are a drool-worthy match made in food heaven. For the full Malaysian experience, we recommend you wash it down with some hot milo or teh tarik.

Really Nice
Those who visit Cameron Highland should drop by to try the food at Uncle Chow's Kopitiam. They are really nice, please mark my words. Its a shame if you give it a miss. Daughter's toast set with half-boiled eggs. The toast comes with nicely sealed butter and home made kaya in a small little tiny container just enough to spread on 2 toast.

Sheri was professional, full of ideas and a load of fun but most of all, her passion for fine art film photography shone through both on the day of our wedding, and in our photography collection we received in the weeks after our magical day. Not only were my now husband and I impressed, so were our guests with many commenting on the amazing and professional service we received on our day.

Chinese New Year
Bak Kua from Sun Wing Heong (新永香肉干). Bak Kua! This dried meat delicacy is usually reserved for Chinese New Year but cravings are too difficult to contain sometimes. There are a few brands that sell this but Sun Wing Heong is a family favourite. Just look at these strips of porky goodness - not too hard, not too oily, and just the right level of saltiness. Yum yum yum! I sometimes like to have mine sandwiched in white bread. How do you enjoy your bak kua? Dried meat SS2, PJ.

Xin Quan Fang
Ipoh has so much good food that it is really impossible for me to have normal white bread for breakfast everyday. I started our day eating the famous curry noodles at Restaurant Xin Quan Fang (or the locals call it Ma Ta Liu curry mee). Our bowl of noodles arrived with a side of roasted pork, char siew, prawns and chicken seated on top of a bed of blanched bean sprouts. Dip it into the curry sauce, oh man, it is sooooo shiok. I don't think they have any coconut milk added, the curry was very delicious with lard and garlic. The braised roast pork is from their own recipe and cannot find anywher

The English Fry Up at S.Wine, RM39. It doesn't take much for a cafe to serve up slices of toasted white bread, a seared sausage, a couple of fried eggs and a heaping of canned baked beans. It takes even less to charge a hungry brunch customer a whopping RM30 for the ensemble. Only a precious few cafes in KL do the Full Monty justice, with S.wine taking top spot for unadulterated deliciousness. One of the most overlooked elements of a great fry up is crispy (pork) bacon; the folks in the kitchen seem to have nailed the frying of pork rashers to thin, curly, salty crackers.
