Chardonnay and Parellada are harmoniously blended to create a wine of a luminous gold color. Seductive tropical fruit aroma (grapefruit, pineapple) with hazelnut over buttery undertones. Intense, firm and full on the palate, silky with an elegant fullness. A touch of vanilla in the finish is indicative of the wine's short ageing in French oak. A wonderful accompaniment to fresh cheeses, salt and freshwater fish.

Within the Royal Belum State Park lies Lake Temenggor, the second largest lake in Peninsular Malaysia after Lake Kenyir. Lake Temenggor is, just like Lake Kenyir, a manmade lake used for water catchment.

The lake has a variety of freshwater fish species including the Kelah, Toman, Sebarau, Tenggalan and Baung, which makes it the perfect destination for anglers. As it used to be a forest area, the place is full with small islands (actually peaks of mountains and hills) that can be visited. The main resorts are also located on these islands.

Planning activities on Belum Rainforest Resort. The lake (Tasik Temenggor) has a rich source of freshwater fish like Kelah (ikan kelah), Tenggalan and Baung, which although found here are extinct in other places.

This only serves to make Tasik Temenggor a more attractive and important fishing area in Perak.

The 250 barrels that hold the 250 Collector Blend – entirely hand-made by traditional coopers from La Sarrazine, Hennessy's cooperage – have been specially sized for the event and hold 250 litres (rather than the usual 270). Made of wide-grained Limousin oak, the barrels add just a touch of vanilla and toast, without overpowering the aromas of the eaux-de-vie.

The eaux-de-vie have been previously aged in barrels for at least ten years under optimum condition in an ageing cellar near the banks of the Charente.

Apricots, peaches and white flowers are distinctly recognizable. Barrel fermenting and aging has makes these aromas gentler but in no way diminutive. Oak has left its impact on the wine's taste profile as well. The palate the echoes the gentle profile that was on the nose with a touch of vanilla and spices. The acidity needs a little work, but having said that it would work for a typical Indian palate.

We joined a guided tour and the guide told us that the dragon fruit flower blooms only at night; the large white fragrant flowers of the typical cactusflower shape are among those called “moonflower” or “Queen of the Night”.
