Cheap Red Wine

After dinner, the live band at the lodge came out and started rocking the crowd. There were 4-5 singers, some of them orphans under Uncle Chang's wing (part of profits go to orphanage), and the man himself (long hair, white t-shirt) too sang “we are the world”.

After a while, bottles of free rums were given to each table, and the dive masters started pouring cheap red wine to us too. That got the crowd really going, in no time we were dancing on the floor and singing together with the rockers. It was absolutely awesomesauce.

Lounge Jen Singapore Ladies Night

Lounge@Jen Singapore Ladies Night Review. We started off with a glass of the house wine – I had the red and my friend had the white.

The house red was very nice, didn't really taste like a cheap red wine but like a good cabernet sauvignon perhaps. My friend also said the house white was good but a little too sweet for her liking.

Cheap Red Wine

As the hidden lair that's unfortunately no longer my secret, there is plenty to do, be it Thai boxing, yachting or enjoying the best sunset in Phuket at Baba Nest. They serve an impressive breakfast spread too, and for three days I did everything that I wanted – swam in multiple infinity pools, got my shoulders rubbed, stuffed myself silly, paddle boarded, caught sunrises and sunsets, and got inebriated on cheap red wine from the duty-free store.

If you must go out, Phuket Town, which isn't far, is active only during the day.

Cheap Red Wine

We were drinking a cheap red wine. They served it in glass tumblers.

In a surprise move, the waiter came over and topped up our glasses for free. Thanks Mario's! Chouquets is a new French restaurant in Pacific heights.

Cheap Red Wine

I tried this once and thought that I must have got a dud bottle. As usual I gave it a second chance a few months later at a restaurant. As another reviewer said no varietal character at al.

It just tasted like a cheap red wine and a poor one at that. I was astounded that such a reliable producer would release something like this which would hurt the brand. Has made me wary of other wines in the range even though they have been recommended.

Cheap Red Wine

Stupidly Cheap Red Wine And I Do Mean, Stupidly Cheap (12.50RMB or SGD2.80). Curiosity had me grabbing it - I had to have a taste of this wine that costs less for an entire bottle than most bowls of fishball noodles in Singapore.

I am not a wine connoiseur in any shape or form but here's my verdict: It may not be in the running to win an award but the wine was more than drinkable, being very light with hardly any tannins.

Bottle Red Wine

Stupidly Cheap Red Wine And I Do Mean, Stupidly Cheap (12.50RMB or SGD2.80). I blinked a few times when I saw the price tag of this bottle of locally-produced red wine on the supermarket shelf.

"It has to be a typo error" was what I thought. How could a bottle of red wine cost only two dollars and eighty cents?!
